Call for Abstracts

We are pleased to announce the Annual Dr. Manohar Sai Gowda Memorial Young Investigator Cardiovascular Research Award, to be presented at the 2019 Kansas City Heart Rhythm Symposium. This award has been established in appreciation of the late Dr. Gowda’s contributions to cardiovascular research as both an investigator and a mentor to young investigators.  Cardiovascular fellows, electrophysiology fellows, and research fellows are eligible to submit their work for consideration. Submissions must meet the following criteria:

  1. Original cardiovascular research (basic science or clinical trials);
  2. Work may not have been published at the time of award presentation (prior presentation is permitted as long as the work has not yet been published);
  3. Maximum of 2500 characters, not including spaces. Graphics or tables will count as 500 characters each.

The top three submissions will be invited to attend the 2019 Kansas City Heart Rhythm Symposium, expenses paid (conference registration, transportation, hotel accommodations), present their research during a special morning session at the conference.  The winners will be selected from the top three submissions and receive a plaque on the final day of the conference.

Submissions should include all contact information for notification purposes.  Applicants will be asked to select a category for their submission from the following:

  • Cardiac arrhythmias
  • Cardiac imaging
  • Preventive cardiology
  • Interventional cardiology
  • Basic research
  • Miscellaneous topics
